Canoe Adventures

"Wherever there is a channel for water, there is a road for the canoe."   - Henry David Thoreau

There are times when a solo paddle, with no others around is what you need to refresh the mind and body. And yet, other times we need to meet up with like minded paddlers to share the moments.

Water to Ride - Trips

Let's Go paddling! To best utilize this selection of paddling locations, please down load Google Earth. The locations will have a file that will allow you to download KMZ file to direct to the specific spots. They included GPS info that you can download into other apps. There are some known issues with these files launching Adobe Photoshop on Mac OS in CS3 - CS6. You may need to first start Google Earth and open the KMZ downloaded file. I have not seen an issue with these files starting Photoshop, but if they do, change the file association to Google Earth from your control panel.

When using the information found with the Google Earth Pins (KMZ files) notice what date is listed for the imagery date in the lower left corner of the map. You can use a USGS gauge information to go back and find the flow rate when that picture was taken or at least a reasonable guess. Add to the information, send me a GPS location and a description if you have a favorite place to share.
